Quick Tour
The User Interface
After secure log-in, users are presented with the Contensis toolbar, the Contensis Navigation Tree and, when in edit mode, the Editor toolbar with its familiar intuitive styling.
The Project Tree
Apart from providing a visual map of each project, the project tree enables fast navigation to any area of a project.
Each item of content, code or media is held within the tree in a structured, logical format.
The tree displays an icon against each content type as an immediate visual indicator of the security settings held against any object. This ensures that a user can quickly identify the type of content being viewed, and whether it is editable.
Right Click Functionality
As shown in the screenshot, it is possible to right mouse click on any item within the project tree. The right mouse click provides access to a host of features relevant to the type of content selected.
In the example shown a user has clicked on a folder and the menu generated allows a user to immediately create a new page. In this case a further sub-menu has been created allowing the user to choose from the available section templates.
In this case only one template
has been provided. By clicking on this a new page is created using the template.
A single click now initiates the editing process.
Tree Security
The content which is made available, and the overall tree functionality, will vary based upon the security and rights of individual users.
In the example above, we referred to a user wishing to create a new page within a particular folder. If the user did not have, for instance, permission to create a new page in this section, the option would not be presented.
To illustrate tree security further, visualise an extranet, possibly containing a highly confidential accounts area, which only specified users are able to view or edit. In this case users without the appropriate privileges would not be shown this area of the project. This applies both at section level and at content level.
The security settings and options are extensive, please see the features section for more.
