For the second successive year Contensis attended the ‘Building the Perfect Council Website’ conference organised by Headstar Events as a partnership between E-Government Bulletin and the SOCITM Insight Better Connected programme.
This annual conference has clearly established itself as the leading ‘must attend’ event for all local government web and communication team members. Due to increased demand the event was moved to Olympia with the number of delegates more than doubling from the previous year.
This year’s delegates were able to engage with leading experts, practitioners and their council peers, offering practical advice and views on how to create an easy-to-use, interactive and compelling council website. In between the sessions delegates were able to informally engage with suppliers and focus on their own individual objectives.
Alex Colvin, Contensis public sector account manager, said: “Based on direct feedback from Contensis users and other delegates, it is clear that Contensis is widely regarded as one of the most sophisticated and innovative web content management systems in the market today. We expect to be announcing new Contensis users very soon.”
About the company
The Contensis Enterprise Content Management suite of products began life, as many products do, following an animated discussion between a group of software professionals back in the autumn of 1998.
They all agreed, after exhaustive evaluation, that most of the products then available fell far short of their own vision and an idea began to gel. By spring 1999 work was well advanced on the specification of a system which not only met their criteria, and that of respected industry analysts, but equally important also reflected the views of end user enterprises. Power, ease of use and cost effectiveness were the key words. The beginnings of the Contensis development team were spawned a little later and work started in earnest to turn the dream into reality.
